Appendix Troubleshooting Problem/Question My nüvi never gets satellite signals. How do I know my nüvi is in USB Mass Storage Mode? Solution/Answer Take your nüvi outside, away from tall buildings and trees. Remain stationary for several minutes. When your nüvi is in USB Mass Storage Mode, a picture of a nüvi connected to a computer is shown. Also, you should see two new removable disk drives listed in My Computer. 1. Unplug the USB cable from your computer. My computer never senses that the nüvi is connected. I cannot see any new removable drives in my list of drives. 2. Turn the nüvi off. 3. Plug the USB cable into your computer and your nüvi. The nüvi automatically turns on and goes into USB Mass Storage Mode. If you have several network drives mapped on your computer, Windows may have trouble assigning drive letters to your nüvi drives. See your operating system's help file to learn how to map/assign drive letters. The suction cup will not stay on my windshield. The touch screen is not responding to my taps properly. I cannot get traffic information. Clean the suction cup and windshield with rubbing alcohol. Dry with a clean, dry cloth. Mount the suction cup as described on page 2. 1. Turn the unit off. 2. Press and hold the Power button for about one minute until the Calibration screen appears. 3. Follow the on-screen instructions. Verify that you are in a coverage area. You must be in a coverage area to get the traffic information for that area. Note: You must have a GTM traffic receiver to receive traffic data. Verify that the FM TMC Traffic Receiver is connected to the power connector on the cradle and also connected to a power outlet in your vehicle. 40 nüvi 600/650 Owner's Manual
