Cleaning the pickup roller If the device regularly picks up too many sheets of media or no sheets at all, you might need to clean or replace the pickup roller. Before replacing the pickup roller, try to clean it. To clean the pickup roller, follow the instructions below. To clean the pickup roller Remove the pickup roller as described in steps 1 through 5 of Replacing the pickup roller. 1. Dampen a lint-free cloth with warm water, and use it to clean the roller. WARNING! Do not use abrasives, acetone, benzene, ammonia, ethyl alcohol, or carbon tetrachloride on any part of the device; these can damage the device. 2. Using a dry, lint-free cloth, wipe the pickup roller to remove loosened dirt. 3.
