Table 6-12 Extended Status Codes (Continued) Extended Extended status code status code name Description 0x28 0x29 0x2A 0x2B 0x2C Spindle synchronization change Not ready/start in progress Transfer count not zero Bad interrupt Too much data This error code should never be seen. This error code should never be seen. Too few bytes were transferred by a drive during an I/O operation. An unexpected or incorrect interrupt was received from a SCSI protocol chip or drive. Too many bytes were sent or requested by a drive during an I/O operation. 0x2D 0x2E 0x2F Bad bus phase Bad message Bad reselection A drive violated the SCSI bus protocol. A drive violated the SCSI bus protocol. A drive violated the SCSI bus protocol. 0x30 0x31 0x32 Parity error Message parity error Status parity error A SCSI bus parity error was detected. A SCSI bus parity error was detected. A SCSI bus parity error was detected. 0x33 0x34 0x35 0x36 Bad status Invalid CDB Unsupported function No device driver A drive violated the SCSI bus protocol. An invalid command was issued. This error code should never be seen. This error code should never be seen. This error code should never be seen. 0x37 0x38 0x39 Unsupported IOCTL option Unexpected disconnect User reset This error code should never be seen. A drive violated the SCSI bus protocol. The device was reset. This can be caused by a previous error. 0x3A 0x3B Protocol time-out Recovered error cannot remap A drive violated the SCSI bus protocol. The device reported a Recovered error that required ECC to recover the data (01/18), but it did not report the bad LBA in the sense data. The SP microcode was unable to attempt a remap. 0x3C 0x3D Recovered error remap failed Media error cannot remap An attempt to do a remap after a Recovered error failed for some reason other than one of the following: another media error, a timeout, cannot remap (no LBA provided), or bad defect list. All of these errors are itemized separately. The device reported a Media error (03/xx) but it did not report the bad LBA, remap was not enabled. 6-52 Unsolicited Event Log
