Configuring Zone Merge Control Policies Configuring and Managing Zones Configuring Zone Merge Control Policies To configure merge control policies, perform this task: Procedure Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Command or Action switch# configuration terminal Purpose Enters configuration mode. switch(config)# zone merge-control restrict Configures a restricted merge control setting vsan vsan-id for this VSAN. switch(config)# no zone merge-control restrict vsan vsan-id Defaults to using the allow merge control setting for this VSAN. switch(config)# zone commit vsan vsan-id Commits the changes made to the specified VSAN. Default Zone Policies To permit or deny traffic in the default zone, perform this task: Procedure Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Command or Action Purpose switch# configuration terminal Enters configuration mode. switch(config)# zone default-zone permit Permits traffic flow to default zone members. vsan vsan-id switch(config)# no zone default-zone permit Denies traffic flow to default zone members vsan vsan-id and reverts to factory default. switch(config)# zone commit vsan vsan-id Commits the changes made to the specified VSAN. Configuring System Default Zoning Settings You can configure default settings for default zone policies and full zone distribution for new VSANs on the switch. To configure switch-wide default settings, perform this task: Procedure Step 1 Step 2 Command or Action switch# configuration terminal switch(config)# system default zone default-zone permit Purpose Enters configuration mode.
