SIM NOTE: This section applies only to select models with WWAN capability. NOTE: If there is a SIM inserted in the SIM slot, it must be removed before disassembling the computer. Be sure that the SIM is reinserted in the SIM slot after reassembling the computer. Before removing the SIM, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 40). Remove the SIM: 1. Position the computer upside down with the battery bay toward you. 2. Press in on the SIM (1) to release it from the SIM slot. 3. Remove the SIM (2) from the computer. Install the SIM by inserting it into the SIM slot until you hear a click. To prevent damage to the connectors, use minimal force when inserting a SIM. CAUTION: If a SIM is inserted backwards or upside down, the battery may not snap into place properly and could damage the SIM and the SIM connector.
