Do not forget the password. Only a service representative can reset the password to the factory setting. To set a new password: 1. Follow the steps on "Entering the Administration Menu Password" on page 3-9 to enter the existing password. 2. Press NEXT until CONFIG * displays, then press ENTER. 3. Press NEXT or PREV until NEW PASSWORD displays, then press ENTER. 4. NEW 000-000-000 displays, and the first set of zeros flashes. Press NEXT or PREV to display the new numbers you wish to assign the first part of the password, then press ENTER. 5. The second set of zeros flashes. Press NEXT or PREV to display the new numbers you wish to assign the second part of the password, then press ENTER. 6. The last set of zeros flashes. Press NEXT or PREV to display the new numbers you wish to assign the third part of the password, then press ENTER. 7. PASSWORD CHANGED displays. Press CANCEL three times to return to the drive status ("ready" state). Save the new password to flash ROM by power cycling the library, which allows the password to be recovered if the library is powered off for more than ten days. Do not switch off power to the library until the SCSI bus is inactive. Removing power from a SCSI peripheral when the bus is active can result in data loss and/or indeterminate bus states. If the library is connected to a LAN, check with the system administrator before shutting off power to the library. 3-10

NOTE
