Configuring the Product Enabling or Disabling Host Control Perform this procedure to enable or disable host control of the product through the OSMS. The OSMS is a keyed feature that allows host control and inband management of the director or switch through a management application that resides on an open-systems interconnection (OSI) device. This device is attached to a director or switch port. The device communicates with the switch or director through Fibre Channel common transport (FC-CT) protocol. The OSMS feature must be installed to access this control. Refer to "Installing Feature Keys" on page 52 for instructions. If the feature is not installed, the message Feature not installed displays. To enable or disable host control: 1. Choose Configure from the navigation panel. 2. Choose the Management tab and the OSMS tab. The OSMS tab view displays (Figure 13). Figure 13: Enabling OSMS host control 3. Perform one of the following steps as required: a. Click Enable to activate the OSMS host control. The following message displays: Your changes to the host control enable state have been successfully activated. b. Click Disable to deactivate the OSMS host control. Enabling or Disabling Host Control
Perform this procedure to enable or disable host control of the product through the
OSMS.
The OSMS is a keyed feature that allows host control and inband management of
the director or switch through a management application that resides on an
open-systems interconnection (OSI) device. This device is attached to a director
or switch port. The device communicates with the switch or director through Fibre
Channel common transport (FC-CT) protocol.
The OSMS feature must be installed to access this control. Refer to “
Installing
Feature Keys
” on page 52 for instructions. If the feature is not installed, the
message
Feature not installed
displays. To enable or disable host
control:
1.
Choose
Configure
from the navigation panel.
2.
Choose the
Management
tab and the
OSMS
tab. The
OSMS
tab view
displays (
