NOTE 3 The HP Setup Program Configuring Your Network Connection Controlling the Remote Program Load The HP Enhanced PCI Ethernet interface has the ability to power up the PC, depending on the network connector you use. Information about which network connector is required for either Remote Power On or Remote Wakeup can be found both in the online information that came preloaded with your PC, and in "Connecting to a Network", on page 4. With the 10BT connector, you can: • Power up the PC upon the receipt of a special sequence (known as a Magic Packet) from the network. • Use the Remote-Wake mode, which allows the PC to resume (or Wake-Up) normal functioning when it is in SLEEP (SUSPEND) mode. • Use the Remote-Power mode, which allows the PC to start when it is switched off. With the 10BT/100BT connector you can only implement the "RemoteWake" mode. To enable the Remote-Wake mode: 1 Use the or key to select the Power menu (refer to "Power Menu Items", on page 55). 2 Press to highlight the line Suspend Wakeup and press to select the submenu. 3 Highlight the line Integrated Network and press or to change the setting to [Enabled]. 60 English

Controlling the Remote Program Load
The HP Enhanced PCI Ethernet interface has the ability to power up
the PC, depending on the network connector you use.

Remote Power On or Remote Wakeup can be found both in the online

Network", on page 4.
With the 10BT connector, you can:
Power up the PC upon the receipt of a special sequence (known as a
Magic Packet) from the network.
Use the Remote-Wake mode, which allows the PC to resume (or
Wake-Up) normal functioning when it is in SLEEP (SUSPEND)
mode.
Use the Remote-Power mode, which allows the PC to start when it is
switched off.
With the 10BT/100BT connector you can only implement the “Remote-
Wake” mode.
To enable the Remote-Wake mode:
