INITIAL SETUP 2 ■■ Charging the battery pack DDCapacity of the battery pack 1 ICON BATTERY STATUS 2 The battery has sufficient capacity. 3 The battery is exhausted a little. 4 (green) The battery is nearing exhaustion. 5 The battery is almost fully exhausted. LL Immediately charge the battery pack. 6 Otherwise, the icon will soon start blinking, (red) "LOW BATTERY" will be displayed, and the 7 transceiver will automatically turn OFF. 8 To display the correct battery status Select the attached battery pack in the following item. (Default: BP-271/BP-272) 9 ([MENU] > SET > Function > Battery Pack Select) To display the Battery Pack Select dialog every time you attach the battery pack, set the 10 following item to "ON." ([MENU] > SET > Function > Battery Pack Confirmation) 11 NOTE: 12 ••Prior to using the transceiver for the first time, the battery pack must be fully charged for optimum life and operation. 13 ••BE SURE to turn OFF the transceiver while charging with the supplied battery charger. Otherwise, the attached battery pack cannot be charged. 14 ••While charging, the charging icon " " and "Charging...." are displayed. ••The icon and "Charging...." disappear when the battery pack is fully charged. 15 16 CAUTION: BE SURE to attach the battery 17 pack before connecting the Battery charger. BATTERY STATUS
The battery has sufficient capacity.
The battery is exhausted a little.
(green)
The battery is nearing exhaustion.
(red)
The battery is almost fully exhausted.

Immediately charge the battery pack.
Otherwise, the icon will soon start blinking,
“LOW BATTERY” will be displayed, and the
transceiver will automatically turn OFF.
To display the correct battery status
Select the attached battery pack in the following item. (Default: BP-271/BP-272)

To display the Battery Pack Select dialog every time you attach the battery pack, set the
following item to “ON.”

NOTE:
Prior to using the transceiver for the first time, the battery pack must be fully charged for
optimum life and operation.
BE SURE
to turn OFF the transceiver while charging with the supplied battery charger.
Otherwise, the attached battery pack cannot be charged.
• While charging, the charging icon “
” and “Charging
....
” are displayed.
• The icon and “Charging
....
” disappear when the battery pack is fully charged.
CAUTION: BE SURE
to attach the battery
pack before connecting the Battery charger.
