Maintaining the printer 114 Using the personal identiﬁcation number (PIN) method 1 From the control panel, navigate to: > Settings > > Network/Ports > > Wireless > 2 Select Wi‑Fi Protected Setup, and then press . 3 Select Start PIN Method, and then press . 4 Copy the eight‑digit WPS PIN. 5 Open a web browser, and then type the IP address of your access point in the address ﬁeld. Notes: • View the printer IP address on the printer home screen. The IP address appears as four sets of numbers separated by periods, such as 123.123.123.123. • If you are using a proxy server, then temporarily disable it to load the web page correctly. 6 Access the WPS settings. For more information, see the documentation that came with your access point. 7 Enter the eight‑digit PIN, and then save the changes. Deactivating the Wi‑Fi network 1 From the printer control panel, navigate to: > Settings > > Network/Ports > Network > 2 Follow the instructions on the display. > Network Overview > > Active Adapter > > Standard Cleaning printer parts Cleaning the printer CAUTION-SHOCK HAZARD: To avoid the risk of electrical shock when cleaning the exterior of the printer, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet and disconnect all cables from the printer before proceeding. Notes: • Perform this task after every few months. • Damage to the printer caused by improper handling is not covered by the printer warranty. 1 Turn off the printer, and then unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. 2 Remove paper from the standard bin and multipurpose feeder. 3 Remove any dust, lint, and pieces of paper around the printer using a soft brush or vacuum. 4 Wipe the outside of the printer with a damp, soft, lint‑free cloth.
