To remove the computer cover: 1. Remove any media (diskettes, CDs, or tapes) from the drives, shut down the operating system, and turn off all attached devices. 2. Unplug all power cords from electrical outlets. 3. Disconnect all cables attached to the computer. This includes power cords, input/output (I/O) cables, and any other cables that are connected to the computer. 4. Remove any locking devices such as a padlock that secure the cover. 5. Remove the two screws at the rear of the computer cover and slide the cover to the rear. Removing the cover
Important
Read Chapter 2 “Safety information” on page 3 and “Handling electrostatic discharge-sensitive devices” on
page 5 before opening the cover.
To remove the computer cover:
1.
Remove any media (diskettes, CDs, or tapes) from the drives, shut down the operating system, and
turn off all attached devices.
2.
Unplug all power cords from electrical outlets.
3.
Disconnect all cables attached to the computer. This includes power cords, input/output (I/O) cables,
and any other cables that are connected to the computer.
4.
Remove any locking devices such as a padlock that secure the cover.
5.
Remove the two screws at the rear of the computer cover and slide the cover to the rear.
