5021-0XX Message 54 Serial Option Error 54 Standard Serial Error Description Action Printer has detected a serial interface error on a serial port. Make sure serial link is set up correctly and you are using appropriate cable. Press Go to clear message and continue printing. Job may not print correctly. Press Menu to open Job Menu and reset printer. 54 Network Software Error 54 Std Network Software Error 54 Std Par ENA Connection Lost 54 Par ENA Connection Lost 55 Unsupported Option in Slot 55 Unsupported Flash in Slot 56 Serial Port Disabled Printer cannot establish communications with an installed network port. Press Go to clear message and continue printing. Job may not print correctly. Program new firmware for network interface by way of parallel port. Press Menu to open Job Menu and reset printer. Printer has lost connection to an external print server (also called an external network adapter or ENA). Make sure cable connecting ENA and printer is securely attached. Turn printer off and then on to reset printer. Press Go to clear the message. Printer erases any reference to ENA and then resets. An unsupported option card is installed in one of ports or an unsupported flash DIMM is installed in a memory slot. Turn off and unplug printer. Remove unsupported option. Plug in printer and turn it on. Data has been sent to printer through a serial port, but serial port is disabled. Press Go to clear message. Printer discards any data received through serial port.
