4-wire connection: Direct Wire IMPORTANT: A 4-wire connection is required for mobile homes and where local codes do not permit the use of 3 wire connections. Direct wire cable must have 5 ft (1.52 m) of extra length so dryer can be moved if needed. Strip 5" (127 mm) of outer covering from end of cable, leaving bare ground wire at 5" (127 mm). Cut 1V2"(38 mm) from 3 remaining wires. Strip insulation back 1" (25 mm). Shape ends of wires into a hook shape. 1° Remove center silver-colored terminal block screw. 2.
