Adjusting to a natural color scheme [WB] B CAMERA MENU X WB : K s I A Submenu 2 AUTO 5 3 1 w x y Application The camera automatically adjusts the white balance according to the shooting conditions. For shooting outdoors under a clear sky For shooting outdoors under a cloudy sky For shooting under tungsten lighting For shooting under daylight fluorescent lighting (household lighting, etc.) For shooting under neutral fluorescent lighting (desk lamps, etc.) For shooting under white fluorescent lighting (offices, etc.) Selecting the ISO sensitivity [ISO] B CAMERA MENU X ISO : K Although lower ISO values reduce sensitivity, sharp images can be taken under fully lit conditions. Larger values increase sensitivity so that images can be taken at fast shutter speeds even under dimly lit conditions. However, high sensitivity introduces electronic noise into the resulting picture, which may give it a grainy appearance. Submenu 2 Application AUTO The camera automatically adjusts the sensitivity according to the shooting conditions. HIGH ISO AUTO The camera uses a higher sensitivity compared to [AUTO] to minimize blur caused by a moving subject or by camera shake. 64/100/200/400/ Set ISO sensitivity to a numerical 800/1600 value. 26 EN Shooting pictures sequentially while the shutter button is held down [DRIVE] B CAMERA MENU X DRIVE : K s Submenu 2 o j*1 c d Application One frame is shot each time the shutter button is pressed. Take sequential shots using the focus and brightness (exposure and white balance) set in the first frame. The camera takes sequential shots at a faster speed than in [j]. The camera takes sequential shots at approximately 11 frames/sec. *1 The shooting speed varies depending on the settings for [A IMAGE QUALITY] (p. 25). When set to [j], the flash (p.19) cannot be set to [REDEYE]. In addition, when set to [c], the flash is limited to either # or $. When set to [d], the flash is fixed to $. When set to [c] or [d], [IMAGE SIZE] is limited to [I] or lower, and [ISO] is fixed to [AUTO]. Moreover, [FINE ZOOM] (p. 26) and [DIGITAL ZOOM] (p. 27) are not available. When set to [j], [c], or [d], [R] (sound recording) (p. 27) is not available. Shooting at higher magnifications than optical zoom without reducing the image quality [FINE ZOOM] B CAMERA MENU X FINE ZOOM : K s I Submenu 2 OFF ON Application Only optical zoom is used to zoom in for shooting. Optical zoom and image cropping are combined to zoom in for shooting (Approx. 43× (max.)). This function will not reduce image quality because it does not convert images with fewer pixels into images with more pixels by adding pixels to a cropped image. When set to [ON], [IMAGE SIZE] is limited to [H] or lower. This setting is not available when [DIGITAL ZOOM] is set to [ON]. This function is not available when [% SUPER MACRO] (p. 20) is selected.
