Controlling Other Components Controlling a DVD Player, or DVD Recorder By pressing the Remote Mode button that has been programmed with the remote control code for your DVD player (HD DVD, Blu-ray, or TV/DVD combination), you can control your player with the following buttons. The [DVD] Remote Mode button is preprogrammed with the remote control code for controlling an Onkyo DVD player. Press the appropriate Remote Mode button first. 1 2 9 J K 3 L M 4 N O 5 P 6 Q 7 R 8 S * With some components, certain buttons may not work as expected, and some may not work at all. A ON/STANDBY button Sets the DVD player to On or Standby. B Number buttons Used to enter title, chapter, and track numbers, and to enter times for locating specific points. The [+10] button works as a +10 button or "-.--" button. C TOP MENU button Displays a DVD's top menu or a DVD's title. 40 D SETUP button Used to access the DVD player's settings. E ANGLE button Selects the view angle. F PLAY MODE button Selects play modes on components with selectable play modes. G DISPLAY button Displays information about the current disc, title, chapter, or track, including elapsed time, remaining time, total time, and so on. H AUDIO button Selects foreign language soundtracks and audio formats (e.g., Dolby Digital or DTS). I CLR button Cancels functions and clears entered numbers. J DISC +/-, button Selects discs on a DVD changer. K VOL [ ]/[ ] button (23) Adjusts the volume of the AV receiver. L MENU/MUTING button Displays a DVD's menu, or mutes or unmutes the receiver. M Arrow and ENTER buttons Used to navigate menus and select items. N RETURN button Exits the DVD player's setup menu or returns to the previous menu. O Playback buttons From left to right and top to button : Pause, Play, Stop, Rewind, Fast Forward, Previous, and Next. P REPEAT button Used with the repeat playback function. Q RANDOM button Used with the random playback function. R ZOOM button Used with the zoom playback function. S SUBTITLE button Displays a DVD's subtitle. Note: • If you enter the remote control code for a HD DVD or Blu-ray player that has A, B, C, and D or colored buttons, the [ANGLE], [PLAY MODE], [RANDOM], and [REPEAT] buttons will work as colored or A, B, C, D buttons. In this case, these buttons cannot be used to set repeat playback, random playback, or select play modes.

Controlling Other Components
By pressing the Remote Mode button that has been
programmed with the remote control code for your DVD
player (HD DVD, Blu-ray, or TV/DVD combination),
you can control your player with the following buttons.
The [DVD] Remote Mode button is preprogrammed
with the remote control code for controlling an Onkyo
DVD player.

ON/STANDBY button
Sets the DVD player to On or Standby.
B
Number buttons
Used to enter title, chapter, and track numbers, and
to enter times for locating specific points. The [+10]
button works as a +10 button or “-.--” button.
C
TOP MENU button
Displays a DVD’s top menu or a DVD’s title.
D
SETUP button
Used to access the DVD player’s settings.
E
ANGLE button
Selects the view angle.
F
PLAY MODE button
Selects play modes on components with selectable
play modes.
G
DISPLAY button
Displays information about the current disc, title,
chapter, or track, including elapsed time, remaining
time, total time, and so on.
H
AUDIO button
Selects foreign language soundtracks and audio
formats (e.g., Dolby Digital or DTS).

CLR button
Cancels functions and clears entered numbers.

Selects discs on a DVD changer.

Used with the repeat playback function.

Used with the random playback function.

ZOOM button
Used with the zoom playback function.

SUBTITLE button
Displays a DVD’s subtitle.
Note:
If you enter the remote control code for a HD DVD or
Blu-ray player that has A, B, C, and D or colored
buttons, the [ANGLE], [PLAY MODE], [RANDOM],
and [REPEAT] buttons will work as colored or A, B,
C, D buttons. In this case, these buttons cannot be used
to set repeat playback, random playback, or select
play modes.
