Editing Groups (Move, Combine and Erase) You can perform three editing functions: move a group to change the order, combine two groups into one, and erase tracks in a group. N Outline of edit function 1 Erasing a group-G.Erase All tracks in the specified group will be erased. Moving a group-G.Move Enables you to move a group. Combining groups-G.Combine 2 Enables you to combine two groups into one. N Combining two edit functions Combining two groups that are located apart: (G.Move + G.Combine) G.Combine enables you to combine the selected group with the preceding adjacent group. To combine two groups that are listed apart from each other, first 3 use the G.Move function to move one group next to the other group, then use the G Combine function to combine the groups. Notes regarding edit functions • The edit information is written in the TOC of the MD when you eject the MD or when the recorder enters standby mode. When the recorder is writing this information, the TOC indicator lights up or flashes. During this time, do not disconnect the power cord or move or shake the system. (See "When the TOC indicator lights up or flashes" 4 on page 36.) • You cannot use the edit functions when the MEM, RDM, 1TR, or 1GR indicator is lit. Place the recorder in Normal Playback mode. (See "Cancelling the playback mode" on page 42.) N Erasing tracks in the specified group - G.Erase 5 • You can execute this function only when the input source is MD and an MD is stopped. • To cancel the operation, press MD . 1 2 1 2-4 3 Insert the MD, then select MD as the source. Press GROUP, then turn MULTI JOG to select a group to erase. Press EDIT/CLEAR/NO and turn MULTI JOG until "Erase" appears in the display. Press MULTI JOG. "Erase??" is displayed, enabling you to confirm the operation. Press MULTI JOG. All tracks in the group are erased, and "Complete" appears in the display. The groups are renumbered.
