Operating with the unit You can set the Sleep timer for 10 to 90 minutes, in intervals of 10 minutes. It is also possible to set the timer from 1 to 99 in one-minute increments is also possible using MULTI JOG. N Setting the Once, Weekday, Week- end, or Rec timer 2-5, 7 9 1 3, 4 1, 2 1 Press TIMER repeatedly until the timer menu you wish to set appears in the display. Proceed to Step 2 within eight seconds. 1 Press TIMER while you are listen- ing to music or a radio program. "Sleep 90" appears in the display window. The unit will turn off in 90 minutes. Once Timer Weekday Timer Weekend Timer Rec Timer 2 Press TIMER if you wish to Clock* normal display reduce the remaining time. Each press reduces the remaining time by ten minutes: * Select "Clock" to set the clock (see page 17). 90→80→...→10→off. 2 Press MULTI JOG, then turn it to select the source. When setting Once, Weekday, and Weekend timers: 3 Turn MULTI JOG if you wish to set the remaining time in one- minute increments. The following playing sources appear in turn: CD MD FM AM Turn MULTI JOG clockwise to increase the remaining time by up to 99 minutes, or counterclockwise to decrease the remaining time down to one minute. LINE* CD-R* When setting Rec timer: The following playing sources to be recorded appear in turn: FM AM LINE* 4 Press MULTI JOG. The Sleep timer starts operating. The SLEEP indicator lights. * If you changed the name, the new name appears (see page 65). Connect the timer-equipped source. (Continued on the next page) 61
