Common Functions This section explains functions that can be used with any input source. DIMMER STANDBY/ON REMOTE MODE RECEIVER DVD TAPE/AMP INPUT SELECTOR M D/CDR 1 2 3 VCR/DVR CBL/SAT C D DOCK 4 5 6 TV AUX MULTI CH DVD 7 8 9 VCR TAPE TUNER 10 11 +10 0 C D 12 CABLE CLR SAT D TUN --/--- ENT DIMMER SLEEP TV VOL INPUT GUIDE TOP MENU CH DISC ALBUM VOL PREVIOUS MENU SP A / B PLAYLIST/CAT ENTER MUTING PLAYLIST/CAT SETUP RETURN Press [RECEIVER] first SLEEP MUTING CH SEL LISTENING MODE STEREO SURROUND AUDIO SUBTITLE RANDOM REPEAT TEST TONE CH SEL LEVEL- LEVEL+ PLAY MODE DISPLAY L NIGHT VCR DVD CINE FLTR HDD RC-681M LEVEL - + Adjusting the Bass and Treble You can adjust the bass and treble for the front speakers, except when the Direct or Pure Audio (not North American models) listening mode is selected. 1 TONE Press the AV receiver's [TONE] button repeatedly to select either Bass or Treble. 2 Use the TONE [-]/[+] buttons to adjust. ■ Bass You can boost or cut low-frequency sounds output by the front speakers from -10 dB to +10 dB in 2 dB steps. ■ Treble You can boost or cut high-frequency sounds output by the front speakers from -10 dB to +10 dB in 2 dB steps. Note: • To bypass the bass and treble tone circuits, select the Direct or Pure Audio (not North American model) listening mode. DIMMER Press the remote controller's [DIMMER] button repeatedly to select: dim, dimmer, or normal brightness. Alternatively, you can use the AV receiver's [DIMMER] button. Muting the AV Receiver You can temporarily mute the output of the AV receiver. MUTING Press the remote controller's [MUTING] button. The output is muted and the MUTING indicator flashes on the display. To unmute the AV receiver, press the remote controller's [MUTING] button again, or adjust the volume. The output is unmuted and the MUTING indicator goes off. Muting is cancelled when the AV receiver is set to Standby. 46
