Useful Information Problem The message indicator on the handset flashes slowly. When you play back messages or turn on the answering system, the base unit and handset announce the day and time incorrectly. Cause & solution L New messages have been recorded. Listen to the new messages (page 62) or turn the message alert off (page 69). L Set the date and time again (page 19). Battery recharge Problem "Recharge battery" is displayed, 3 flashes or the handset beeps intermittently. "Charge for 6 HRS" and 4 are displayed and the handset does not work. I charged the battery fully, but "Recharge battery" is still displayed and/or 3 continues to flash, or "Charge for 6 HRS" and 4 are displayed. The CHARGE indicator does not go out after the battery has been charged. The handset display is blank. Cause & solution L Fully charge the battery (page 13). L The battery has been discharged. Fully charge the battery (page 13). L Clean the charge contacts and charge again (page 13). L The battery may need to be replaced (page 14). If you install a new battery, fully charge it (page 13).
