When virus infections occur Eliminate the virus by means of the latest anti-virus software or programming software. When it fails, reinstall all the hard disks. (For reinstalling the hard disks, refer to Appendixes.) Protecting Your Computer Against Virus Norton AntiVirus software is prepared for installation into your computer for detecting and eliminating viruses. Some of the software features are below: • Regularly updates itself to maintain the latest program and virus definition file against new virus threats. (LiveUpdate) • Automatically scans all incoming messages and attachments so that viruses can be identified and blocked. Also detects viruses intruded into your computer. (AutoProtect) • Manually detects infected programs or files. (Virus Scan) Refer to Help of the installed Norton AntiVirus for more information. Installing Software Follow the instructions below for installing the Norton AntiVirus software. 1. Double-click Norton Setup icon ( ) on the desktop of your computer. If the Norton Setup icon ( ) is accidentally removed from the desktop, follow the steps below for starting the Norton Setup wizard. Click start - Run.... Type C:\navsetup\navsetup.exe in the Open field, and click OK. 2. Install the software by following the on-screen instructions. When the installation is completed, the Norton AntiVirus icon ( ) will be displayed on the desktop. 3. Double-click Norton AntiVirus icon ( ) on the desktop. The Norton AntiVirus Wizard will start. 4. Complete the wizard by following the on-screen instructions. A-4 Appendixes
