BUTTONHOLE SEWING Making corded buttonholes When sewing corded buttonholes, hook a heavy thread or cord under the buttonhole foot. 1 Attach the buttonhole foot and hook the gimp thread onto the back of the presser foot. Bring the two gimp thread ends to the front of the foot and insert them into the grooves, then temporarily tie them there. Lower the presser foot and start sewing. Set the stitch width to match the diameter of the gimp thread. 1 2 Once sewing is completed, pull the gimp thread gently to remove any slack, then trim off any excess. 2 Please Note: It is suggested that you use interfacing on the backside of the fabric. 42

When sewing corded buttonholes, hook a heavy thread or cord under the buttonhole
foot.
Please Note:
It is suggested that you use interfacing on the backside of the fabric.
Once sewing is completed, pull the gimp
thread gently to remove any slack, then trim
off any excess.
