Using the Setup screen For details on the operation t page 43 • The maximum zoom scale of smart zoom/precision zoom includes the scale of the optical zoom. • The AF range finder frame does not appear when using the digital zoom. The or indicator flashes, and AF operates with priority on subjects located near the center of the frame. • When using the smart zoom, the image on the screen may look rough. However, this phenomenon has no effect on the recorded image. Date/Time Selects how to superimpose the date or time onto the image. Select this before shooting. • The date and time do not appear during shooting, instead, the indicator appears. The date and time appear in red on the lower-right corner of the screen during playback only. Day&Time Superimposes the date, hour, and minute. Date Superimposes the year, month and day. • The date is inserted in the order you select. (t step 2 "Set the clock" in "Read This First") Off Does not superimpose the date and time. • You cannot insert the date and time into movies or images in the [Multi Burst] mode. • The date and time superimposed cannot be removed later. Red Eye Reduction Reduces the red-eye phenomenon when using the flash. Select this before shooting. On ( ) Off Reduces the red-eye phenomenon. • The flash pre-strobes twice or more before shooting. Does not use Red Eye Reduction. • Because it takes about a second until the shutter clicks, hold the camera firmly to prevent the effects of vibration. Also, do not let the subject move. • Red-eye reduction may not produce the desired effects depending on individual differences, the distance to the subject, if the subject does not see the pre-strobe, or other conditions. 45
