Introduction Connecting your TV Using the Remote Control Setting up your TV Enjoying the Dolby Virtual TruSurround sound feature The Dolby® Virtual TruSurround sound feature allows you to enjoy virtual surround sound from the TV's speakers. • If you connect a device with digital audio output to either the coaxial or optical DIGITAL AUDIO IN terminal on the TV, and the input source (DVD or DTV program, for example) is encoded with 5.1-channel sound, the Dolby Virtual TruSurround feature functions as (VDD). VDD simulates Dolby Digital 5.1-channel, six-speaker surround sound from the TV's speakers. See pages 14 and 57 for additional details on digital audio connection. • If you connect a device with analog audio ouput to standard (analog) audio terminals on the TV, and the input source (a game console or DTV program, for example) is encoded with sound, the Dolby Virtual TruSurround feature functions as Virtual Dolby Surround (VDS). VDS simulates Dolby Surround sound from the TV's speakers. To turn on Dolby Virtual TruSurround sound: 1. Press MENU, and then press x or • until the THEATER menu appears. 2. Enjoying the WOW™ surround sound features The WOW ™ surround sound features (SRS 3D, FOCUS and TruBass) expand the audio listening field wider and deeper to create exceptional sound quality from the TV's speakers. The WOW features use stereo signals from a TV broadcast or video input. • SRS 3D: Surround sound effect • FOCUS: Vocal emphasis effect • TruBass: Bass expansion level (HIGH, LOW, or OFF) To adjust the WOW features: 1. Select STEREO mode (see "Selecting stereo/SAP broadcasts" on page 52). 2. Press MENU, and then press x or • until the THEATER menu appears. 3. Press y or z to highlight the desired WOW feature you want to adjust (SRS 3D, FOCUS, or TruBass), and then press x or • to adjust the item. The Dolby
®
Virtual TruSurround sound feature allows you to enjoy
virtual surround sound from the TV’s speakers.
If you connect a device with digital audio output to either the
coaxial or optical DIGITAL AUDIO IN terminal on the TV, and
