3 Tests and Diagnostics 3.30 SETUP 9. I/O ports This option controls settings for the serial and parallel ports. NOTE: Do not assign the same interrupt request level and I/O address to the serial port and PC card. (a) Serial Use this option to set the COM level for the serial port. Not used COM1 COM2 to COM4 Does not assign the serial port. Assign the serial ports (Default) Assign the serial ports (b) Parallel This option sets the interrupt request level and I/O port base address for the parallel port. When the parallel port mode (see settings below) is set to ECP and "Not used" is selected in Parallel, OPTION window is opened and DMA can be set. 10. Drives I/O This option displays the address/interrupt level for hard disk drive and optical drive. It is only for information and cannot be changed. (a) Built-in HDD This option displays the setting of the address and interrupt level of the HDD. This cannot be changed. (b) CD-ROM This option displays the setting of the address and interrupt level of the installed drive. This cannot be changed. Even if an installed drive is not CDROM drive, "CD-ROM" is displayed. 11. PCI Bus This item displays the interrupt level for the Card Bus. It is for information only and cannot be changed.
