Setup menu ■ User Input ("Cable", "SAT", "DVD", etc. - the name of an input source you have added before) Watch/Listen/Play You can customize the icons under the activities displayed on the source screen for each component. For example, if you listen to a CD using the DVD player frequently, you can add the "CD" icon under the "Listen" activity and rename the icon to "CD/DVD-P". Selectable icons are as follows: LiveTV, Movie, DVR, Game, Apple TV, CD, Other, None (Select "None" when you want to delete the assigned icon from the selected activity.) You can rename icons with up to eight characters. Remote Code Use this menu to switch the remote control code for the component. Follow steps 6 to 15 at "Step 3: Source Device Setup". (☞ P. 15) Remote Code Learning Use this menu to add/change remote control codes. See below. Remove Use this menu to remove any component you have added. y If you change the connections between this unit and source devices, first remove the input settings, then make new settings using the "Add new input" menu (☞ P. 39). ■ Programming remote control codes from other remote controls You can program remote control codes from other remote controls. Use the learning feature if you want to program functions not included in the basic operations. 1 Select the source device's type. If any remote control code has been set already, skip this step. 2 Select a button on the remote control or the virtual remote control. You can program the functions of other remote controls to the following buttons. • GUIDE, MENU, PREV., EXIT, u / d / j / i, ENTER, CH u / d, and PAGE u / d on the remote control. • Any of the virtual remote control buttons (including buttons L1 to L14 (☞ P. 22)) 3 Select "Learn" and immediately press and hold the button you want to program on the remote control until "Code learning was successful" appears. If the target button is one of the L1 to L14 buttons, you can rename the button. Select "Rename" and rename the button. If learning was unsuccessful, "Code learning failed" appears. In this case, place the remote control near the remote control sensor of this unit and select "Retry", or select "Cancel" to cancel the learning process. y Aim the remote control of other devices at the remote control sensor of this unit within the range of 10 cm to 2.5 m (4 in. to 8 ft.). 4 To learn other codes, select "Learn next code" and repeat steps 1 to 3 until you finish "learning" all the desired code. 5 Select "Finished" and then "Yes" to exit the learning process. Notes • If the other remote control uses infrared rays, this unit can learn most of its function. However, you may not be able to program some special signals or extremely long transmissions. • This unit does not support the control interfaces for game consoles.
