MD8 Applications 83 10 MD8 Applications This chapter shows how the MD8 can be used for various applications. One-Take Recording One-Take recording is ideal for live recording or recording bands that like to record with all members playing together. In this system, vocals, backing vocals, guitar, and drums are recorded using microphones, while the bass is connected via DI (Direct Injection). Powered monitors are connected to the AUX SENDs for vocal and synthesizer monitoring. With an optional footswitch connected to the PUNCH I/O jack, one of the musicians can stop and start MD8 recording. A stereo pair of headphones is used for monitoring. Using the DIR recording method, up to eight tracks can be recorded simultaneously.
