The air cleaner not only cleans air, it stops flame if the the engine backfires.If it isn't there, and the engine backfires, you could burned. Don't be drive with it off, and be careful working on the engine withthe air cleaner off. 1. Release the two clipsthat hold the cover down. 2 . Lift the cover off. 3. Pull out the air filter. 4. Install the new air filter. 5. Reverse steps 1 through 3 to reassemble the air cleaner assembly. Refer to the Maintenance Schedule determine when to to replace the air filter. r ~~ I NOTICE: I If the air cleaner is off, a backfire can cause a damaging engine fire. And, can easily get dirt into your engine, which willdamage it. Always have the air cleaner in place when you're driving.
