CHASSIS REPLACING WHEELS When replacing the tiers and wheels, be sure to install tire pressure warning valves and transmitters. ID codes on the tire pressure warning valves and transmitters are registered on the tire pressure warning ECU. When replacing a tire pressure warning valve and transmitter, it is necessary to register the ID code of tire pressure warning valve and transmitter. Have the ID code registered by your Lexus dealer. If the ID code is not registered, the system will not work properly. After about 1 hour, the tire pressure warning light blinks to indicate a system malfunction. When to replace your wheels If you have wheel damage such as bending, cracks or heavy corrosion, the wheel should be replaced. If you fail to replace a damaged wheel, the tire may slip off the wheel or cause loss of handling control. Replacement with used wheels is not recommended as they may have been subjected to rough treatment or high mileage and could fail without warning. Also, bent wheels which have been straightened may have hidden structural damage and therefore should not be used. Never use an inner tube in a leaking wheel which is designed for a tubeless tire. NOTICE When the tires or tire pressure warning valves and transmitters must be replaced, have them replaced by your Lexus dealer. The tire pressure warning valves and transmitters will be affected by the installation or removal of tires. 569
