Important Considerations 73 The dynamic nature of automatically configured IP information means that a Switch may change its IP address whilst in use. Server Support Your Switch has been tested to interoperate with DHCP servers that use the following operating systems: ■ Microsoft Windows 2000 Server ■ Microsoft Windows NT4 Server ■ Sun Solaris v2.5.1 If you want DHCP to be the method for automatic configuration, make sure that your DHCP servers are operating normally before you power on your Switch. Event Log Entries An event log will be generated and an SNMP trap will be sent if the IP and Traps address configuration is changed manually.
