3ware Escalade Storage Switch User Guide 2 Restart your computer. 3 When the Welcome to Red Hat display appears type expert at the boot prompt. boot: expert Install the driver 1 After loading a number of files, you will be asked to insert your driver disk. Insert the 3ware driver installation diskette for Red Hat and press OK. For Red Hat 7.1 and later versions, the system automatically reports: Loading 3w-xxxx driver 2 Select the proper language and keyboard types for your locality. 3 If asked for what type of media, select Local CD-ROM since you are installing from CD-ROM. For Red Hat versions prior to 7.0: 4 When asked if you would like to specify a special device driver select Add Device and press Return. 5 When asked what kind of device you would like to add select SCSI. 6 Scroll down the list and select the 3ware Storage Switch. 7 Installing the driver will conclude with a message: "I have found the following devices in your system" and should list the Escalade Storage Switch. Unless you have other third party devices to install in your system, select Done. For Red Hat version 7.2: Due to a Red Hat 7.2 installer bug, an older version of the 3ware driver loads instead of the latest one from the driver disk. Restart your computer.

Welcome to Red Hat
display appears type
expert

the boot prompt.

Install the driver

After loading a number of files, you will be asked to insert your
driver disk. Insert the 3ware driver installation diskette for Red
Hat and press
OK
. For Red Hat 7.1 and later versions, the sys-
tem automatically reports:
Loading 3w-xxxx driver

Select the proper language and keyboard types for your locality.

If asked for what type of media, select
Local CD-ROM
since
you are installing from CD-ROM.
For Red Hat versions prior to 7.0:

When asked if you would like to specify a special device driver

3ware Storage Switch

Installing the driver will conclude with a message: “I have found

For Red Hat version 7.2:
Due to a Red Hat 7.2 installer bug, an older version of the 3ware
driver loads instead of the latest one from the driver disk. Complete
the installation, and then update the driver to get the installation
correct.
