Linux Installation 3 When the Type of Installation display appears, do not select anything yet. 4 Insert the 3ware driver installation diskette, then press Ctl-AltF2. Install the driver via a command shell Note: *** refers to the SuSE Linux version you are installing (i.e. su64, su72, etc.). Check 3ware's website for supported versions. 1 From the command prompt, issue the following commands: / # mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /mnt / # cp /mnt/***/3w-xxxx.o /modules / # umount /mnt 2 Eject the 3ware Software Installation diskette from the floppy drive and issue the following commands. / # cd /modules /modules # /sbin/insmod 3w-xxxx.o 3 Press Ctl-Alt-F1 to return to the Type of Installation display. Note: If the system reports a 3ware module is already loaded, stop the driver with the command below and repeat step 3 to load the current driver: /modules # /sbin/rmmod 3w-xxxx 4 Select Abort-No Installation. www.3ware.com 109
