Windows® 98/ME Installation Replacing an existing storage switch with a new version of the switch Caution: Install the correct driver (Escalade 7000 Storage Switch) for the new version Escalade Storage Switch before installing the switch. Your system may not boot with the new version of the storage switch unless the new version of the driver has been installed first. Note: Upgrading to a new version of the Escalade Storage Switch does not require reconfiguring the drives connected to your switch and will not affect data stored in your disk arrays for this and previous versions. Materials required: • 3ware Windows driver installation diskette • 3ware CD-ROM Update the 3ware driver 1 Backup any critical data prior to upgrading the 3ware driver. See "Update the 3ware driver" on page 54. 2 Log in to your system. 3 Go to the Start menu, click on Settings and open the Control Panel window. 4 Click on the System icon from the Control Panel window. 5 Click on the Device Manager tab. 6 Open the SCSI Adapters selection. 7 Locate and double-click on 3ware Storage Switch. Replacing an existing storage switch with a

Caution:
Install the correct driver (Escalade 7000 Stor-
age Switch) for the new version Escalade Storage
Switch
before
installing the switch. Your system may
not boot with the new version of the storage switch
unless the new version of the driver has been installed

3ware Windows driver installation diskette
3ware CD-ROM
Update the 3ware driver

Log in to your system.

Go to the
