4 Installing the Software Driver for Windows NT In this Chapter ➤ Installing the Array1000UDMA Driver for Windows NT 4-2 ➤ Windows NT Installation and Configuration Notes 4-5 This chapter explains how to install the Array1000UDMA software driver (cdaudma.sys) for Windows NT (Windows NT 4.0 Server). Before installing the driver, make sure you have completed the following: s Installed the AAA-UDMA RAID card in your system. (See Chapter 2) s Created the first array using the ARRAYCONFIG UDMA utility, if you plan to boot from an array. (See Chapter 3) Once Windows NT and the driver are installed, install Adaptec CI/O Management Software and use it to add, delete, and manage arrays from the server console (CI/O is required for array management in order to provide the proper level of fault tolerance and event notification). Refer to the Adaptec CI/O Management Software User's Guide for instructions on installing and using the software. 4-1

Installing the Software
Driver for Windows NT
In this Chapter
This chapter explains how to install the Array1000UDMA software
driver (
cdaudma.sys
) for Windows NT (Windows NT 4.0 Server).
Before installing the driver, make sure you have completed the
following:
Installed the AAA-UDMA RAID card in your system.
(See Chapter 2)
Created the first array using the
ARRAYCONFIG UDMA
util-
ity, if you plan to boot from an array. (See Chapter 3)
Once Windows NT and the driver are installed, install
Adaptec CI/O Management Software and use it to add, delete, and
manage arrays from the server console (CI/O is required for array
