Control Panel LEDs Machine Status SLEEP The machine is in Sleep mode (Power Save mode). The machine acts as though it were turned off. Receiving data or pressing Go wakes up the machine from Sleep mode to Ready mode. DEEP SLEEP 3 The machine is in Deep Sleep mode (reducing more power consumption than Sleep mode). The machine acts as though it were turned off. If the machine does not receive data for a certain length of time while it is in Sleep mode, it enters Deep Sleep mode automatically. Receiving data or pressing Go wakes up the machine from Deep Sleep mode to Ready mode. HL-2270DW only: If a wireless network is enabled, the machine does not enter Deep Sleep mode. To disable the wireless network, see chapter 5 of the Network User's Guide. READY The machine is ready to print. PRINTING The machine is printing. WARMING UP The machine is warming up. COOLING DOWN The machine is cooling down. Wait for a few seconds until the inside of the machine has cooled down. RECEIVING DATA The machine is either receiving data from the computer or processing data in the memory. DATA REMAINING There is remaining print data in the machine memory. If the Ready LED is flashing for a long time and nothing has printed, press Go to print the remaining data in the memory. 54

Machine Status
SLEEP
The machine is in Sleep mode (Power Save mode). The machine acts as though it
were turned off. Receiving data or pressing
Go
wakes up the machine from Sleep
mode to Ready mode.
DEEP SLEEP
The machine is in Deep Sleep mode (reducing more power consumption than Sleep
mode). The machine acts as though it were turned off. If the machine does not
receive data for a certain length of time while it is in Sleep mode, it enters Deep Sleep
mode automatically. Receiving data or pressing
Go
wakes up the machine from
Deep Sleep mode to Ready mode.
HL-2270DW only: If a wireless network is enabled, the machine does not enter Deep
Sleep mode. To disable the wireless network, see chapter 5 of the

READY
The machine is ready to print.
PRINTING
The machine is printing.
WARMING UP
The machine is warming up.
COOLING DOWN
The machine is cooling down. Wait for a few seconds until the inside of the machine
has cooled down.

memory.
