A new standard toner cartridge can print approximately 2,500 pages (black) or approximately 1,500 pages (yellow, magenta, cyan) 1. For approximate life of high capacity toner cartridges, See Replacing consumable items on page 88. Note • The toner cartridges that come supplied with the machine are standard toner cartridges. • The amount of toner used varies according to what is printed on the page and the print density setting. • If you change the print density setting for lighter or darker printing, the amount of toner used will change. 5 1 A4 or Letter size single-sided pages. When a mark blinks (n), the indicated toner cartridge is near the end of its life. Replace Toner message 5 When the following message appears on the LCD, you need to replace the toner cartridge. Replace Toner Open the Front C The second line of the LCD indicates which color you need to replace. The machine will stop printing until you replace the toner cartridge. A new and unused genuine Brother toner cartridge will reset the Replace Toner mode. 95
