GETTING READY Turn on the machine. a Place the spool of thread for the bobbin onto e the spool pin. Slide the spool onto the pin so that the spool is horizontal and the thread unwinds to the front at the bottom. Place the bobbin on the bobbin winder shaft so b that the spring on the shaft fits into the notch in the bobbin. Press down on the bobbin until it snaps into place. a b a Notch b Bobbin winder shaft spring Slide the bobbin winder in the direction of the c arrow until it snaps into place. Memo z Use the embroidery bobbin thread for embroidering. Note z If the spool is not positioned so that the thread unwinds correctly, the thread may become tangled around the spool pin. Slide the spool cap onto the spool pin and f return the spool pin to its original position. Slide the spool cap as far as possible to the right as shown, with the rounded side on the left. X (Start/stop button) lights up in orange. Pick up the spool pin and remove the spool d cap that is inserted onto the spool pin. a b a Spool cap b Spool pin CAUTION ● If the spool or the spool cap is not positioned correctly, the thread may become tangled around the spool pin or the machine may be damaged. ● Three spool cap sizes are available, allowing you to choose a spool cap that best fits the size of spool being used. If the spool cap is too small for the spool being used, the thread may catch on the slit in the spool or the machine may be damaged. ● 30
