Section 11. Glossary 500 Term. leaf node In this configuration, the CR6 will not be able to forward packets from one port to another and it will not maintain a list of neighbors. Under this configuration, the CR6 can still communicate with other dataloggers and wireless sensors. It cannot, however, be used as a means of reaching those other dataloggers. Term. local variable A variable available for use only by the subroutine wherein it was declared. The term differentiates local variables, which are declared in the Sub() and Function() instructions, from global variables, which are declared using Public or Dim. Term. LONG Data type used when declaring integers. Term. loop A series of instructions in a program that are repeated a prescribed number of times and followed by an "end" instruction which exits the program from the loop. Term. loop counter Increments by one with each pass through a loop. Term. mains power the national power grid Term. manually initiated Initiated by the user, usually with a external keyboard display, as opposed to occurring under program control. Term. mass storage device USB: "thumb" drive. Term. MD5 digest 16-byte checksum of the VTP configuration. Term. MicroSD MicroSD® is a removable memory-card technology used in the CR6 datalogger. MicroSD® is a registered trademark of SD-3C, LLC. Term. milli The SI prefix denoting 1/1000 of a base SI unit.
