Troubleshooting q Application error or General Protection Fault printing does not execute Cause: Printing from a Windows 3.1 application program. Solution: Print from a Windows 98 or Windows 95 application program. Cause: Multiple software applications running. Solution: Quit all other application programs you are running and try printing again. Cause: Sufficient memory not available for the application program. Solution: Refer to the user's manual for your application program and check that the required amount of memory is allocated to the application program. If there is not enough memory installed, install more memory. Refer to the user's manual for your computer for information on installing additional memory. Cause: Sufficient space not available on hard disk. Solution: Delete any unneeded files to make more space available. Cause: Internal file or application program problem. Solution: Rebuild the document and print it again. If there is no problem with the new document, the original file was probably faulty. If the same problem recurs with the new file, contact a Canon service facility. Cause: Installed printer driver not operating correctly. Solution: Remove the installed BJ printer driver and then install the printer driver again. To uninstall the printer driver select Programs and then BJ Printer from the Windows Start menu and click Uninstall. Then follow the on-screen instructions. When connecting to the USB interface running under Windows 98, refer to the "Additional Notes on Handling the USB Interface" manual provided with the printer. 63
