OPERATIONS AND TIMINGMUM H. Controlling the Side Blank Exposure 1. Outline The copier is equipped with a side blank exposure lamp at the front and the rear to prevent adhesion of toner to the drum when reduced copies are made. 2. Operation The side blank exposure lamp moves based on the travel distance of the lens as measured by the lens travel detecting shaft for reduced copies for blanking out the nonimage areas.
