Changing the Composition with the Focus Lock While you keep the shutter button pressed halfway, the focus and exposure are locked. You can now recompose and shoot. This is called Focus Lock. Focus. ● Center the subject you want in focus, and press the shutter button halfway. ● Confirm that a green AF frame appears around the subject. Recompose. ● Keep the shutter button pressed halfway and recompose the scene. Shoot. ● Press the shutter button fully. Holding the Camera and Shooting Vertically (Vertical Shutter) You can touch on the screen instead of the shutter button to shoot when holding the camera vertically. You can still also use the shutter button. Shoot. ● Hold the camera vertically. X will appear. ● Point the camera at the subject and touch . X When the camera focuses, it will beep twice and take the shot right away. This is unlike when you shoot with the shutter button and first press it halfway. To prevent the icon from appearing, press the n button, select the 4 tab, and then select the [Vert. Shutter] menu item and the [Off] option. 80
