Chapter 6 Maintenance Cleaning the Magnetic Heads If the magnetic heads are dirty, then MICR characters cannot be scanned correctly. Periodically, clean the magnetic heads with a commercially available audio head cleaner. 1 Press the open button, and pull the maintenance cover open to the right and left. If you notice paper dust in the feed path when you open the maintenance cover, Important clean it out with a cotton swab. 2 Use a commercially available audio head cleaner to clean the magnetic heads. Cleaning the Magnetic Heads

audio head cleaner.
