Battery Power Conservation Tips, Checking Remaining Battery Power, IMPORTANT

Page 41 highlights

■ Battery Power Conservation Tips • When you do not need to use the flash, select " " (flash off) for the flash setting (page 76). • Enable the Auto Power Off and the Sleep features to protect against wasting battery power when you forget to turn off the camera (page 45). ■ Checking Remaining Battery Power As battery power is consumed, a battery indicator on the monitor screen indicates remaining power as shown below. Remaining High Low Power Battery Indicator Indicator Light Orange Red Red Color blue " " indicates that battery power is low. Charge the battery as soon as possible. Recording is not possible when " " is indicated. Charge the battery immediately. IMPORTANT! • Due to differences in the power requirements of each mode, the battery indicator may show a lower level in the PLAY mode than what it shows in a REC mode. This is normal, and does not indicate malfunction. • Leaving the camera for about 12 hours with no power supplied while the battery is dead will cause its date and time settings to be cleared. You will have to re-configure the settings after power is restored. C GETTING READY 41
