Chapter 21 Configuring LLDP and LLDP-MED Configuring LLDP and LLDP-MED Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to enable LLDP-MED when it has been disabled: Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Command configure terminal lldp run end Purpose Enter global configuration mode. Enable LLDP. Return to privileged EXEC mode. This example shows how to globally disable LLDP. Switch# configure terminal Switch(config)# lldp run Switch(config)# end Disabling and Enabling LLDP on an Interface By default, when LLDP is enabled, interfaces are enabled to send and to receive LLDP information. Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to disable sending or receiving LLDP packets on an interface. Step 1 Step 2 Command configure terminal interface interface-id Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Step 6 no lldp transmit no lldp receive end copy running-config startup-config Purpose Enter global configuration mode. Specify the interface on which you are disabling LLDP, and enter interface configuration mode. No LLDP packets are sent on the interface. No LLDP packets are received on the interface. Return to privileged EXEC mode. (Optional) Save your entries in the configuration file. Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to enable sending and receiving LLDP packets on an interface after it has been disabled: Step 1 Step 2 Command configure terminal interface interface-id Step 3 lldp transmit Step 4 lldp receive Purpose Enter global configuration mode.
