Configuring EIGRP Chapter 29 Configuring IP Unicast Routing Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to configure a remote or spoke router for EIGRP stub routing: Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Step 6 Step 7 Command configure terminal router eigrp 1 network network-number eigrp stub [receive-only | connected | static | summary] end show ip eigrp neighbor detail copy running-config startup-config Purpose Enter global configuration mode. Configure a remote or distribution router to run an EIGRP process and enter router configuration mode. Associate networks with an EIGRP routing process. Configure a remote router as an EIGRP stub router. The keywords have these meanings: • Enter receive-only to set the router as a receive-only neighbor. • Enter connected to advertise connected routes. • Enter static to advertise static routes. • Enter summary to advertise summary routes. Return to privileged EXEC mode. Verify that a remote router has been configured as a stub router with EIGRP. The last line of the output shows the stub status of the remote or spoke router. (Optional) Save your entries in the configuration file. Enter the show ip eigrp neighbor detail privileged EXEC command from the distribution router to verify the configuration. Monitoring and Maintaining EIGRP You can delete neighbors from the neighbor table. You can also display various EIGRP routing statistics. Table 29-8 lists the privileged EXEC commands for deleting neighbors and displaying statistics.
