You can enable BFD support for IS-IS by enabling it globally on all IS-IS interfaces or by enabling it on one or more interfaces. Configuring BFD for IS-IS Globally Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to configure IS-IS BFD globally, and to optionally disable it on specific interfaces: Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Command configure terminal router is-is area-tag bfd all-interfaces Step 4 exit Step 5 Step 6 Step 7 interface interface-id ip router isis isis bfd disable Step 8 Step 9 Step 10 end show bfd neighbors [detail] copy running-config startup-config Purpose Enter global configuration mode. Specify an IS-IS process and enter router configuration mode. Enable BFD globally on all interfaces associated with the IS-IS routing process. (Optional) Return to global configuration mode if you want to disable BFD on one or more IS-IS interfaces. (Optional) Specify an interface and enter interface configuration mode. (Optional) Enable IPv4 IS-IS routing on the interface. (Optional) Disable BFD on the IS-IS interface. Repeat Steps 5 through 7 for all IS-IS interfaces on which you do not want to run BFD sessions. Return to privileged EXEC mode. Verify the configuration. (Optional) Save your entries in the configuration file. To disable IS-IS BFD on all interfaces, enter the no bfd all-interfaces router configuration command.
