The fans exhaust air from the left of the chassis. Fresh air enters from the right of the chassis. (See Figure 1-4.) If an individual fan in the fan assembly fails, the Fan LED turns red while the other fans continue to run. Sensors monitor the internal air temperatures. If the air temperature exceeds a desired threshold, the environmental monitor displays warning messages. Use environmental monitoring and reporting functions to maintain normal system operation by identifying and resolving adverse conditions before the system fails.
