Racks are marked in vertical increments of 1.75 inches (4.44 cm). Each increment is referred to as a rack unit (RU). A 1-RU device is 1.75 inches (4.44 cm) tall. Tools and Parts Required A sliding rail rack-mount kit is included in your shipping container accessory box. The rack-mount kit is suitable for mounting the WAE-7371, WAE-7341, and WAE-674 appliances in 19-inch (48.26-cm), 4-post equipment racks. (See the "Rack Requirements" section on page 3-2.) You need the following tools for the installation: • Flat-blade screwdriver • Phillips screwdriver Figure 3-1 shows the items that you need to install the WAE in your rack or cabinet. If any items are missing or damaged, contact your customer service representative. Warning To prevent bodily injury when mounting or servicing this unit in a rack, you must take special precautions to ensure that the system remains stable. The following guidelines are provided to ensure your safety: • This unit should be mounted at the bottom of the rack if it is the only unit in the rack. • When mounting this unit in a partially filled rack, load the rack from the bottom to the top with the heaviest component at the bottom of the rack. • If the rack is provided with stabilizing devices, install the stabilizers before mounting or servicing the unit in the rack.
