DES-3326SR Layer 3 Fast Ethernet Switch CLI Reference Manual config route redistribute dst rip Purpose Syntax Description Parameters Restrictions Used to configure route redistribution from OSPF to RIP. config route redistribute dist rip src [lo c al/st at i c /o spf { all/i nt e rnal/e x t e rnal/t y pe _1 /t y pe _2 } ] {metric } Route redistribution allows routers on the network − that are running different routing protocols to exchange routing information. this is accomplished by comparing the routes stored in the various router's routing tables and assigning appropriate metrics. this information is then exchanged among the various routers according to the individual routers current routing protocol. The switch can redistribute routing information between the OSPF and RIP routing protocols to all routers on the network that are running OSPF or RIP. Routing information entered into the Static Routing Table on the local switch is also redistributed. src − Allows the selection of the routing protocol on the source device. dst − Allows the selection of the routing protocol on the destination device. − Allows the entry of an OSPF interface cost. This is analogous to a Hop Count in the RIP routing protocol. Only administrator-level users can issue this command. Route Redistribution Commands 229
