Section 4 - Configuration Features QoS Engine The Quality of Service (QoS) Engine will allow you to prioritize particular clients over others, so that those clients receive higher bandwidth. For example, if one client is streaming a movie and another is downloading a nonurgent file, you may wish to assign the former device a higher priority than the latter so that the movie streaming is not disrupted by the traffic of the other devices on the network. The following configuration is available: Internet Speed Click on Check Speed to launch a speedtest of your internet Checkup: connection. A window will pop up to show you the results of the speedtest. After running the speedtest, you can either choose Detect Again to re-run the speedtest, or you can choose Apply to Qos to apply the results to the download and upload configuration. Management Use the drop-down menu to select the Management Type that the Type: rule will be enabled for. This may be set to Off or Manage By Device. Download Speed Set maximum download rate limit to apply to the QoS Engine (Mbps): configuration. Upload Speed Set maximum upload rate limit to apply to the QoS Engine (Mbps): configuration. Features
QoS Engine
The
Quality of Service (QoS) Engine
will allow you to prioritize particular
clients over others, so that those clients receive higher bandwidth. For
example, if one client is streaming a movie and another is downloading a non-
urgent file, you may wish to assign the former device a higher priority than the
latter so that the movie streaming is not disrupted by the traffic of the other
devices on the network.
The following configuration is available:
Internet Speed
Checkup:
Click on
Check Speed
to launch a speedtest of your internet
connection.
A window will pop up to show you the results of the
speedtest.
After running the speedtest, you can either choose
Detect
Again
to re-run the speedtest, or you can choose
Apply to Qos
to
apply the results to the download and upload configuration.
Management
Type:
Use the drop-down menu to select the Management Type that the
rule will be enabled for. This may be set to
Off
or
Manage By Device.
Download Speed
(Mbps):
