Section 6 - Troubleshooting Troubleshooting How do I replace a failed disk drive? If a disk drive fails, the Disk Status LED will turn red. When replacing a failed disk drive, be sure to use a new drive of the same or slightly greater capacity. Step 1: Power off the DNR-312L. Step 2: Open the NVR's cover. Step 3: Pull out the failed disk drive. Step 4: Install a new disk drive into the slot. What should I do if I cannot log in to the NVR using Internet Explorer? Check the settings of your anti-virus software to make sure it isn't blocking access to the NVR web interface. You may need to adjust the settings or disable the anti-virus software. What should I do if I cannot see the complete web interface using Internet Explorer? If you cannot see the complete page of the system when using Internet Explorer, the ActiveX installation process may not be complete. Step 1: Open Internet Explorer and connect to your DNR-312L. Step 2: The browser will ask whether to install ActiveX. Step 3: Click the upper bar to begin the installation process. Step 4: Click Install to complete the process. What should I do if I forget the admin password for the DNR-312L? If you forget the password, you must reset the NVR, which will restore the password for the admin account to the default setting. (It will be blank.) Unfortunately, this will reset ALL settings on the device back to the factory defaults, and it could cause data corruption. We highly recommended that you back up your recorded data before resetting your NVR. To reset the device, make sure it is plugged in and turned on. Then press and hold the reset button on the bottom of the NVR for about 10 seconds, or until the Power LED flashes three times. The admin password will then be blank.
